Carlos Bocanegra has revealed his pride at captaining Fulham for the first time.
The United States defender was handed the armband last week following a serious injury to compatriot Brian McBride and helped inspire the Cottagers to come from 3-1 behind to draw 3-3 against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Bocanegra has already had leadership experience after guiding his country to success in this summer's CONCACAF Gold Cup.
He told Fulham's official website: "It's an honour to be captain - it was my first Premier League game as captain and it was a special feeling to lead the guys out at home.
"Brian is our club captain and I'm just filling in for him. Brian has earned it and, because of his unfortunate injury, anyone who is captain is just filling in for him."
